ECE - 2041 : Fundamental of Computer Engineering.

Students use ORCAD in 2041 to reinforce in labs the theory they learn in the classroom. They learn the fundamentals of logic gate construction and cover simple gates up to state machines. The programs are burned onto a PLD 22V 10 chip and include JK flip flops, a counter, sequence recognizer and a traffic control state machine. These labs are 50% of the final lab grade.

ECE -2052 / 2054 Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering.

This is a year-long sequence on the fundamentals of Electrical Engineering. Topics include DC circuit analysis, Transient circuit analysis, AC circuit analysis, AC power calculations, balance three-phase circuit analysis, AC resonance, analysis of coupled circuits, frequency response, and piecewise-linear analysis of electronic circuits, Pspice simulations are performed by the students to support the theory.

ECE - 3450 Digital Electronics.

Students perform simulations of transistor circuits and circuits involving A/D, D/A, and timer circuits (555, Schmidt Trigger Inverter, One Shots).

ECE - 3550 Analog Electronics.

Students use PSpice to simulate electronic circuits composed of diodes, bipolar transistors, MOS transistors, and operational transistors.

ECE - 3970 / 4970 / 4972 EE Senior Design Projects.

Many Electrical Engineering students use PSpice in the design phase of their senior design projects. furthermore, some of the students have used the PCB application in the prototype development phase.

ECE - 7500 Fundamentals of Solid State Electronics.

PSPICE simulation is used as an aid in understanding various diode and transistor level models.

____________________________________________________________________________________________________

ECE - 8460 VLSI design.

Students perform simulations of CMOS digital circuits at the transistor level. signal integrity effects of on-chip interconnects are also analyzed using PSpice simulation.

____________________________________________________________________________________________________

ECE - 8545 Digital Integrated Circuits.

Students perform simulations of MOS and bipolar digital circuits at the transistor level. signal integrity effects of off-chip interconnects are also analyzed using PSPICCE simulation. PCB layout tool will also be used for board designs.

____________________________________________________________________________________________________

ECE - 8560 Mixed Signal IC design.

Students perform simulations of CMOS analog and digital circuits at the transistor level.
