TANG SOO DO
MOO DUK KWAN

I started Karate at age 15.00 (right after my 15th birthday) and have been training in Tang Soo Do, Moo Duk Kwan under the sharp eye of Master David Kremin ever since at the Amkor Karate gym in Newtown Square. Amkor karate is one of the top karate schools in the nation, and always takes home a boat load of honestly earned medals and trophies (we took home 26 Gold medals at the Tae Kwon Do Natioal Championships in Iowa out of only 48 competitors).

I tesed for and was promoted to the rank of Cho Dan (first degree black belt) in April of 1998. In May 2000, I tested for and was promoted to the rank of Yi Dan (second degree black belt). I should be testing for the rank of Sam Dan in ~2003, but might be allowed to test in summer 2002 just before I go off to grad school.

The Chief Instructor of Amkor Karate is Master Frederick Scott, 6th Dan. He has been teaching since 1975, and his students include Flyers and 76ers owner Pat Croce, several Flyers team members and many national karate champions. Visit the links above to learn a lot more about Amkor Karate Institutes.

6/01: Our gym has moved from 9 Clyde Lane in Newtown Square, PA, to Summit Training center in Rosemont, PA, right next to Border's Books between Rt. 30 and the train tracks. It's a nice gym with all kinds of other training equipment available. Ph# 610-525-2300. Rick Tocchet and John Leclair from the Philadelphia Flyers regularly train there as well as Pat Croce, owner of the Philadelphia 76ers.
