Diag Command

Diag:

Diag is diagnostic tools that allows an administer to run diagnostics on hardware and peripherals. Most hardware test will not work correctly when run in concurrent mode (while system in running). To achieve accurate results on diagnostics it is best to boot from diag CDROM and then run tests.

There is an option within diag called, Advanced Diagnostics, Service Aids. This option allows you to perform many lowlevel tasks such as Micro Code updates, boot list, Firmware configurations, Service Processor Flash Memory … etc. This is the most useful portion of diag for a system administor. F1 will display help messages.
