Rick, FYI Helen From: Patricia Capkin
Hi Leslie, Great news! I just met with Melissa to go over our response. It was pretty clear on our end that he wasn’t finished, but we just wanted to make sure we had the policy straight. Attached is the Policy on a
Student Seeking to Enroll in Two Graduate Programs Simultaneously (which, according to Craig Wheeland, should be applied to any students seeking a second graduate degree, no matter if completed simultaneously or separately). For whoever plans to advise this student… the policy shows that he would able to ‘double count’ up to 7.5 credits (which will end up being only 2 courses). Looking at his transcript and the degree requirements
found on the Engineering website, we could only see one course that would be appropriate to double count (ECE 8476) towards both the MS in Electrical Engineering and the MS in Cybersecurity. Let us know if the student would like to make the most of this policy
and use the course towards both. Additionally, if we are missing something and the student/advisor thinks that another course from the EE program could be considered an equivalent to a requirement for the Cybersecurity program, we’re open to hear it. Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions. Patti, Sorry for the confusion on Matthew Dachowski. Please ignore the request to have him added to the May 2014 Prospective List. You are correct in pointing out that he received his MSEE in 2011. It is rare that we have a student return for a second degree and this was not checked thoroughly prior to sending you the request. Leslie From: Helen Cook
Leslie and Rick, I did not think this student was double dipping, but please see email below. Helen From: Marjorie McManus

Hi Margie, Enjoy your vacation! I’m going to have to look over this student’s record with Pam and Melissa… we’re going to have to dig up the policies on double-dipping and using coursework towards two different degrees. I’ll let you know what
they think. Thanks! Patty Patricia Capkin Assistant Registrar The Office of the Registrar Villanova University CONFIDENTIALITY: This email (including any attachments) may contain confidential, proprietary and privileged information, and unauthorized disclosure or use is
