ECE 3770: Communication Systems

Prof. Mojtaba Vaezi, Spring 2018

Overview

This is the first course in communications and covers the fundamental principles underlying the analysis and design of analog and digital communication systems. Analysis techniques are based on Fourier transforms and power spectral density. Mathematical models for random variables and random (noise) signals will be presented. Filtering and modulation of random signals will be disscussed. These techniques will then be used to design analog (AM and FM) and digital (PSK and FSK) communication systems and determine their performance over noisy channels.

Prerequisites: (ECE 3225 or ECE 3245) and ECE 3720.
